Digital Holding starts operation in Uzbekistan
USM Telecom (a division of the USM holding of Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov), MegaFon and partners from Uzbekistan have launched a joint telecommunications enterprise Digital Holding. The State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) of Uzbekistan signed the final package of documents on its formation.
Digital Holding is designed to become the technological leader of the largest telecommunications market in Central Asia, expanding access and improving the quality of digital services in Uzbekistan.
Within its activities, the company will focus on the introduction of advanced technologies and systems in the fields of data storage and processing, digital labeling and movement control of certain types of goods.
The joint venture includes 100% of the authorized capital of the telecom operator Ucell, Uzbek assets of USM - CRPT Turon and ICS Holding Uzbekistan. The Russian side will also invest $100mn in the development of Digital Holding.
51% in JV belong to Digital Invest, ther rest is set to be owned by SAMA.
