Uzbekistan implements new customs regulations for tobacco transit
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision to approve the regulation on customs control for the transit of tobacco products through the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Under this regulation, the authorized person responsible for the transit of tobacco products must submit preliminary electronic information about the goods and transportation means. This information must include:
- A certificate from the country of manufacture and its electronic copy.
- An electronic copy of the delivery contract or agreement.
- An electronic copy of the transportation schedule if the goods are transported in multiple parts.
- Confirmation that customs fees for the transit have been transferred to the customs authorities' deposit account.
- Information on whether the goods have an excise stamp from the receiving country, unless exempt by law.
Preliminary information must be submitted only at border customs posts equipped with vehicle inspection systems.
Customs fees for transit can be paid in national currency or US dollars. Information about the deposit account for customs fees is available on the Customs Committee's official website and at border crossing points.
Customs fees will be refunded to the payer within 5 working days after the goods clear customs control.
