Uzbekistan PMI gains momentum
The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in Uzbekistan, calculated by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR), amounted to 1,059 points in August, having increased by 5.9% compared to the previous month, or up by 30% y/y.
The highest growth in the regional context was observed in the Ferghana region.
The Tashkent region experienced a moderate decline (-1.4%) compared to the previous month.
The number of interbank payment transactions in the reporting period amounted to 4.7mn, which is up 4.2% compared to July 2021.
The total turnover at the Republican Commodity Exchange amounted to $533.4mn, up 18.1% against the month before.
The number of small enterprises increased from 454,975 to 462,303.
