Uzbekistan showcases tourism potential at forum in Pakistan
A tourism business forum focusing on Uzbekistan's tourism potential was held in Pakistan's Punjab region, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Airways. The event attracted officials from the Punjab region and around 500 representatives from major tourism companies and operators.
Participants viewed a presentation highlighting Uzbekistan's key tourist destinations, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Shakhrisabz. These cities are historically significant and important centers for tourism related to Islamic culture and holy sites.
The forum also discussed recent developments in organizing special tours for pilgrims and facilitating visits to sacred locations. Presentations covered Uzbekistan Airways' existing air routes, passenger services, and the country’s potential as a convenient transit hub for flights to CIS, European, and Asian countries.
The unique opportunities for natural, gastronomic, and ecological tourism in Uzbekistan were also emphasized. Representatives from the Punjab tourism sector praised Uzbekistan's initiatives and expressed their willingness to collaborate on joint projects.
