Uzbekistan- the first beneficiary country of the UK's Extended GSP scheme

Uzbekistan became the first beneficiary of the UK's Extended Scheme of Generalised System of Preferences. More than 7,800 types of goods produced in Uzbekistan will be imported into the UK at zero import duty.

The fact that Uzbekistan has successfully ratified 27 key international conventions on human rights, labor standards, the environment, and good governance has played an important role. The republic has gained access to the world's fifth-largest economy and the most international consumer and retail market in the world worth more than 437 billion pounds.

In turn, Britain has created a "trading bridge" with the region's fastest-growing economy, which is a key regional hub. The British will be able to get closer acquainted with Uzbekistan's unique textiles, its agricultural products, and many other domestically produced goods.
