Senate approves 100,000 soum banknote design
The Central Bank’s public affairs office says the banknote will not affect the current money supply
The purposes of the high-denomination banknote include:
- making cash payments more convenient;
- reducing costs associated with storing and transporting cash;
- improving ATM operations; and
- optimizing the soum banknote series;
The design, description and date of issue will be announced later by the Central Bank.
