On July 4, 2023, a container train was dispatched on a new multimodal route connecting Langfang in China to Tashkent in Uzbekistan. The train, consisting of 41 wagons carrying construction materials, marked the beginning of transportation along this route.
With a distance of approximately 6000 kilometers and a cargo weight exceeding 1000 tons, the journey is expected to take around 12 days. This new route is currently recognized as the shortest and fastest means of delivering goods from China to Uzbekistan.
The transportation process involves rail transport from Langfang to Kashgar railway station in China, followed by truck transportation to Osh railway station in Kyrgyzstan. Finally, the goods will be transported by railway from Osh to Tashkent in a freight train.
