President of Uzbekistan receives delegation of Grand National Assembly of Turkiye
On April 7, within the framework of the 150th Anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkiye, headed by its Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the head of our state.
The parties discussed pressing issues regarding the deepening of Uzbekistan–Turkiye relations of friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership.
It was noted with great satisfaction that bilateral cooperation is currently at its highest level. Mutual trade and investment figures continue to grow, the number of successful joint ventures and projects is increasing, and the frequency of direct flights between the two countries is on the rise. Important cultural events aimed at bringing the two nations closer are regularly being held.
Particular attention was paid to the further development of inter-parliamentary relations, including the active role of friendship groups in shaping a renewed agenda for Uzbekistan–Turkiye cooperation. The sides also discussed strengthening interregional ties and ensuring effective parliamentary oversight over the implementation of high-level agreements.
