Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov Joins Arab-Islamic Summit
Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov attended the Arab-Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia on November 11, where discussions focused on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Aripov emphasized the significance of the summit, involving 57 countries and nearly 1.5 billion people, highlighting the strong values uniting them.
Addressing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Aripov expressed concern, stating that the scale of destruction in the Gaza Strip is unprecedented in the last 50 years. He stressed the urgency of finding a resolution and called for a compromise between the involved parties.
Aripov announced Uzbekistan's commitment to providing humanitarian aid, allocating $1.5 million for the Gaza Strip. He noted Uzbekistan's support for the UN General Assembly resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, with Uzbekistan being one of the 120 countries that voted in favor.
Expressing condolences for the victims, Aripov deemed the killing of babies as unacceptable injustice. He reiterated Uzbekistan's solidarity with the Palestinian people and urged all members to safeguard the integrity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy places in Jerusalem.
Affirming Uzbekistan's support for Palestine's right to establish an independent state in line with international standards, Aripov stressed the importance of resolving the conflict based on the principle of two states - two peoples. He warned against the escalation of violence, cautioning it could lead to broader international implications and urged a diplomatic resolution to prevent unpredictable tragedies.
Aripov concluded by emphasizing the need to avoid conflicts between religions and civilizations, calling on the involved parties to compromise on humanitarian issues and cease hostilities. He reiterated Uzbekistan's support for diplomatic efforts to bring about a resolution to the conflict.
