Russia Explores Increased Oil Exports to Uzbekistan
Russia is exploring options to increase oil and oil product exports to Uzbekistan, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov. This was discussed during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khojayev.
Effective collaboration in standardization and metrology is crucial. Currently, recommended lists of test equipment for upgrading Uzbek test laboratories have been established. These lists assess compliance with 15 technical regulations of Uzbekistan. Cooperation in the energy sector is emphasized.
Russia supports Uzbekistan's efforts to develop its mineral and raw material resources. Discussions are ongoing regarding cooperation in geology and subsoil use. Successful oil and gas exploration projects, including seismic prospecting in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Aral Sea and adjacent areas, have yielded promising results. These findings suggest the potential discovery of significant gas deposits in the region, marking a historic post-Soviet milestone.
