Uzbek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the Ambassador of the USA to Uzbekistan
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov met the Ambassador of the United States of America Jonathan David Hannick. The meeting was also attended by the Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Uzbekistan, Michela Meredith.
The main points that were discussed are trade investment, innovation, agriculture, and energy. The sides also exchanged their view on the situation in Afghanistan. The efforts of Uzbekistan to provide assistance to the Afghan people and the implementation of infrastructure projects in the neighbouring country was highly appreciated.
The parties also touched upon the current state and prospects for further development of the Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership. The two countries are ready to continue an active and constructive political dialogue.
