Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan collaborate on port infrastructure development

Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have engaged in high-level discussions regarding the construction of warehouse infrastructure and logistics centers in the ports of Baku. During the meeting held in Baku, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan emphasized the strategic significance of fostering collaboration in the transport sector. 

President Mirziyoyev emphasized the crucial role of the transportation sector in Uzbekistan's economy, stating, "The transport component in our economy is a very serious component. And we are defining our direction with the nearest country, Azerbaijan, and I think this is the right decision." Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to enhancing their countries' cooperation.

Among the key topics on the agenda were the establishment of a joint logistics company within the Trans-Caspian corridor and the construction of warehouse infrastructure and logistics centers not only in the ports of Baku but also in third countries. An agreement was reached during the talks to pursue projects aimed at developing new logistics chains and expanding the overall volume of cargo traffic.
