Uzbekistan and Latvia explore medical tourism cooperation

Medical tourism is seen as a promising area for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. A presentation event highlighting Uzbekistan's tourism potential and ongoing reforms was held at the Uzbek Embassy in Latvia, according to reports from “Dunyo” AA.

Representatives from leading Latvian travel companies and agencies, including "Beltravel," "Māksla ceļot," "Latturt," "Interlux," "VivaDelta," "DigiTours," and "Antario," participated in the event.

The presentation covered the history, nature, ancient monuments, national cuisine, and traditions of Uzbekistan, as well as the country's investment potential in the tourism sector.

Employees from the Specialized Pediatric Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Uzbekistan discussed the development of medical tourism in the country. They highlighted opportunities for medical and health tourism, including newly created tourism clusters, modern sanatoriums, and the newly developed “Medical Service Hospitality” program.

Representatives of Latvian tour companies praised the reforms in Uzbekistan's medical tourism sector and expressed strong interest in developing cooperation with Uzbek partners.

Inita Svaid, the head of Beltravel, noted that Uzbekistan has achieved significant progress in tourism development in a short time. “Interest in Uzbekistan is growing among tourists from the Baltic countries. Additionally, medical tourism is seen as a promising area for cooperation with Latvian tour companies,” she said.
