Alisher Usmanov Fund set to continue funding Almalyk branch of NUST “MISiS”

The Art, Science and Sport Charitable Fund, founded by a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist Alisher Usmanov, is to provide its continuing comprehensive assistance in developing activities and improving the quality of education at the Almalyk branch of NUST MISiS.

The implementation of the project of the NITU "MISiS" branch in Uzbekistan is one of the most important and priority areas of the Fund’s activities.  The organization intends to strengthen cooperation with the Uzbek side in this matter by increasing investments in attracting leading foreign specialized specialists in the educational process.

So, recently, a branch of the MISiS National Research Technological University in Almalyk gained access to a high-speed Internet network at a speed of 100 Mbit / s.

This innovation allowed expanding the university’s access to dozens of the largest international electronic databases and catalogs of scientific and research works, scientific and fiction. In particular, these are reference and bibliographic and scientific systems “EBSCO”, “Scopus”, “Biblioclub”, “Elibrary”, etc. Expansion of this list is planned.

“Thanks to the support of Alisher Usmanov and the management of Almalyk MMC, our educational institution is equipped with the most advanced educational laboratory facilities in the entire CIS. And access to high-speed Internet is to intensify the educational process at the university and increase its ability to integrate into the global scientific community and international research programs,” says Farhod Umarov, director of the Almalyk Branch of NUST MISiS.

The Art, Science and Sport Charitable Fund was founded in 2006 in order to support socially significant initiatives in the field of culture, art and sports, as well as scientific, educational and social projects.
