Customs Committee: volume of drug trafficking almost doubled

Customs committee officers identified over 17 thousand offenses that prevented the illegal turnover of goods worth 844 billion soums. This was announced at a briefing in AIMK by the head of the State Customs Committee information service.

As a result of the operational measures taken by the customs authorities, 1,620,000 units of tobacco products worth 19.8 billion soums were seized. In particular, over the past period, 749 kg of narcotic drugs were seized from perpetrators. This figure increased by 42% compared to the last year.  In addition, 38 kg of gold and other precious jewelry worth 14.6 billion soums were seized (figure increased by 5%).
