Elevator malfunction leaves 11 injured in Tashkent

An elevator went down due to a malfunction, causing 11 people to sustain injuries. The incident occurred on June 18 at a residential building on Navruz Street in the Yangikhaet district.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations press service, there was a failure in the braking system on the ground floor, causing the lift to fall down. Fortunately, the automatic braking system on the ground floor tripped, preventing a more serious incident.

Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, and all 11 people were taken to the hospital for treatment. Eight of them were soon discharged, and three others are still receiving medical care.
