Fraud builder sells “fake” apartments in Tashkent

The quality of housing sold by builder Muhammadbobur Khodjaev has become the main theme of a meeting organized by the municipality of the capital. The affected buyers and media representatives were invited to attend it.

The hour-long discussion dragged on for two. Those who had bought apartments from the builder had a long story to tell, and most importantly, to cry for help. Administration`s response to numerous complaints of people was simple – those apartments are unsafe for the residents.

However, in this situation, nothing more the administration can do to help. The bottom line is that people, assuming that they are buying an apartment, they actually bought square meters in a house built as an individual housing construction, i.e. in a private house.

The so-called "developer" in order to avoid coordination procedures with state bodies (inspection for control in the field of construction of the Ministry of construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan, bodies of sanitary and fire supervision, etc.), territorial architectural and town-planning council, mandatory in the construction of an apartment house, received a permit for the construction of individual housing construction, which does not provide for such obligations. Accordingly, these state bodies do not participate in the acceptance of the completed construction of the building of individual housing construction. That's the difference!

Only changes at the legislative level on the revision of the processes of development of land plots intended for individual housing construction, would help to insure bona fide buyers from the acquisition of new housing, disguised as an apartment, dishonest developer.
