Khorezm hosts second "Lazgi" festival in April

Khiva will host the second international "Lazgi" festival from April 25 to 30. Dance groups from over 20 countries are expected to participate in the event, which is held every two years. This information was shared during a press conference involving representatives from the Ministry of Culture.

Khorezm Lazgi is included in UNESCO's list of cultural heritage. This dance has become a favorite for many people nowadays. Consequently, the festival dedicated to it is growing in scale each year and is organized in a special manner.

Officials believe this festival will facilitate the exchange of experiences with international participants and showcase the tourism potential of Khorezm. Participants from various countries including Central Asian countries, Turkey, Brazil, Italy, Egypt, and India will be part of the festival. The competition will be judged in categories such as "Best Solo Dancer," "Best Dance Team," and "Best Staged Dance." Referee applications have been received from Germany, Korea, USA, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. According to conference representatives, the prize money will range from $2,000 to $7,000. Visitors at the press conference were also introduced to the charm of Khorezm.
