Over 190 foreign TV channels to broadcast on territory of Uzbekistan

The list of foreign TV channels broadcasting in the territory of Uzbekistan is expanding. In order to ensure the right of citizens to complete and impartial information, as well as to expand access to information from various sources, 50 foreign TV channels previously allowed for distribution in the country were summarized, on the basis of which a new edition of the list of foreign TV channels consisting of 192 TV channels was developed.
This list includes 35 specializing in the coverage of socio-political issues and the dissemination of news, 37 focused on the screening of films and TV series, 34 on popular science, educational, demonstrating the achievements of science, 27 focused on children and adolescents, 20 specializing in the coverage of sports topics, and 20 specializing in music programs and 39 foreign channels distributing entertainment content.
Foreign TV channels included in this list are distributed through the networks of pay-TV operators and providers (i.e. in closed mode via terrestrial, cable and IP television, mobile communications, satellite communications networks and Internet platforms). The distribution of foreign TV channels on the territory of Uzbekistan is carried out in accordance with the requirements of national legislative acts and norms of international law regulating the sphere of copyright and related rights, with the conclusion of relevant agreements with the owners of foreign content or with their consent.
