Samarkand hosts first Asian para triathlon championship
Samarkand to hold several triathlon competitions from 9 to 11th June. First Asian Para Triathlon Championship will also be organized this year. The winners of the championship will be awarded with rating points. This was announced at the pre-competition conference.
On June 9, for the first time in Uzbekistan, "Para-triathlon - Samarkand – 2023 Asian Championship" will be held. More than 80 international para-athletes are planned to participate in 9 categories on SPRINT distance (750m swimming, 20km cycling, 5km running). From Uzbek National Team 6 para-athletes will take part.
"Samarkand - 2023 Asian Triathlon Cup" will be held on June 10. The world's most 50 female and 50 male athletes will participate. Elite athletes compete at the STANDARD distance (1500m swimming, 40km cycling, 10 km running). On June 11, "Samarkand - 2023, Uzbekistan triathlon championship" takes place. Qualifying for the national and youth national team in triathlon will also be held among teenagers. This competition will consist of two distances: Olympic and Super-sprint.
The organizer of these competitions is Uzbekistan Triathlon federation and will be supported by National and Para-Olympic Committees.
