Uzbek economist receives doctoral degree from Harvard University
Economist Botir Kobilov has received a doctoral degree from Harvard University. He became the first Uzbek to defend his doctoral dissertation at a higher education institution, as reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
His dissertation was on “The Role of Information and Data in the Financial Market and Economy”. In addition, he is a doctoral student in the Corporate Governance Program at Harvard Law School. He previously worked there as an academic researcher in empirical law and finance.
Before Harvard, Kobilov earned a bachelor's degree from the Singapore Institute of Management Development and a master's degree from Duke University. He also worked as a senior economist at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
