Uzbekistan considers procurement of Russian Covid-19 vaccine

Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Bahodir Yusupaliev gave an interview to the Russian newspaper Kommersant.

According to Yusupaliev, Uzbekistan is considering the acquisition of a Russian vaccine against the coronavirus. At the moment, the issue is being resolved at the level of specialists and the government. A final decision can be made within two weeks.

"A number of other countries, including China, have asked us to participate in the third stage of clinical trials of a particular vaccine. Now colleagues are considering whether to participate in the third stage or purchase the vaccine after successful completion of all tests, " Yusupaliyev said.

When asked whether the second wave is expected in the country, the Deputy Minister replied: - Yes, we are waiting and preparing for it. Autumn-winter is a layer of other infections, including influenza and SARS. Quarantine measures have been relaxed, contacts between people are increasing, and schools, universities, and kindergartens are being opened.
