Uzbekistan intends to detect people without medical masks using CCTV camera

Fergana region department of Internal Affairs will use video cameras to identify citizens violating mask mode in public places, the press service of the regional police reported. The administrative protocol, drawn up by employees of the internal affairs bodies and the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being, will then be delivered to the offender by mail at the place of permanent residence.

A fine of about 110 dollars is imposed on anyone not wearing a face mask in the public places in the Republic as part of the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections.

According to the World Health Organization, masks are a key measure to suppress transmission and save lives. Masks reduce potential exposure risk from an infected person whether they have symptoms or not. People wearing masks are protected from getting infected. Masks also prevent onward transmission when worn by a person who is infected.

Masks should be used as part of a comprehensive ‘Do it all!’ approach including physical distancing, avoiding crowded, closed and close-contact settings, improving ventilation, cleaning hands, covering sneezes and coughs, and more.
