Uzbekistan intends to resume domestic tourism in some regions starting June 1
According to data provided, in 2019, 6.7 million travelers visited Uzbekistan, contributing around 1.3 billion dollars.
From 1 June 2020, the Uzbek residents may travel to "green" and "yellow" zones of the republic, the head of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov said on Thursday.
Tour operators, travel agencies, public lodging establishments, cultural heritage sites may resume their activities by following stringent sanitary requirements. In addition, a phased resumption of inbound tourism will be reopened for countries whose citizens are eligible to enter Uzbekistan.
