Uzbekistan introduces “Honored Ecologist” title
The honorary title “Honored Ecologist” has been added to the list of state awards in Uzbekistan. It will be awarded to specialists and eco-activists that have made significant contributions to ecology, environmental protection, nature conservation, and biodiversity. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law establishing this title.
During Senate discussions, it was noted that the title aims to support those working in ecology and provide proper recognition for their efforts. It will be awarded to specialists and public eco-activists who have achieved results in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, and the rational use and reproduction of natural resources.
Additionally, the title will be given to citizens who take the initiative in developing and implementing eco-friendly technologies, expanding green areas, promoting environmental awareness, educating the younger generation on nature conservation, and training highly qualified personnel in this field.
The badge is made of silver and has a diameter of 30 mm. It features open palms against the rays of a rising sun, with a valley, rivers, and mountain peaks symbolizing Uzbekistan’s nature.
