Winter holidays in Uzbekistan extended
Due to the abnormally cold weather in Uzbekistan, winter holidays in educational institutions of all levels have been extended until January 17. The classes will start on Wednesday, January 18. Previously, the winter holidays for students, vocational schools and schoolchildren were set from December 26, 2022, to January 9, 2023.
In contrast, extraordinary winter holidays in the period of January 10-18 were set for kindergartens. This decision was made in order to avoid a sharp increase in seasonal flu disease and colds in schoolchildren of preschool educational organizations due to a sharp drop in weather temperatures.
The ministry reported that women who have children of preschool age (3-7 years old), working in institutions and organizations that are financially provided at the expense of the budget, are allowed to reduce working hours without reducing the remuneration paid for labor under the terms of the employment contract.
