Uzbek athletes secure gold and bronze medals
Uzbek athletes achieved success at the Para Athletics World Championship in Paris on July 12. Bobur Omonov secured a gold medal in the men's shot-put event, throwing a distance of 14.73 meters. Doniyor Saliyev also won gold in the men's long jump.
They both set new world championship records. In addition, Nurkhan Gurbanova claimed a bronze medal in the women's shot put, achieving a distance of 7.38 meters. Their performances have granted the direct qualification for the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.
