Uzbek boxers reach final at summer Olympic Games in Paris
Uzbekistan’s participation at the Summer Olympic Games continues in Paris. So, far, the national team secured one gold, and two bronze medals. There are also chances to increase medal counts on boxing. Two Uzbek athletes reached the final on two different weight categories.
At the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, boxing has reached a key moment. Hasanboy Dusmatov easily won his semi-final match in the under 51 kg category against Cape Verde's David de Pina with a score of 5-0. Dusmatov dominated all rounds. Now, he will compete for the double Olympic championship in the final against France's Billal Bennama. The fight is scheduled for August 8.
Lazizbek Mullojonov, competing in the under 92 kg weight class, defeated Davlat Boltaev from Tajikistan 4:1 in the semi-finals. Mullojonov dominated the first two rounds, leaving no doubt for the judges. With this win, he secures at least a silver medal for Uzbek team. Mullojonov will face Azerbaijani Alfonso Dominguez in the final on August 9.
