Uzbekistan defines main directions in development of mass sports

Sports competitions among mahallas in 5 stages will be organized in Uzbekistan. The new decree was issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today, April 11.

The document is intended to popularize family sports with the organization of mass sports events.

So, starting from this year, annually on June 30 - on the Day of Youth of Uzbekistan and within the framework of the "Youth Forum", which is held in December, mass sports competitions will be held according to the system in 5 stages: in football, mini-football, volleyball, track and field athletics, chess, checkers, table tennis, streetball, workout.

In addition, it was established that starting from March 1, 2023, a system for holding three-stage nationwide sports competitions in Olympic, non-Olympic and national sports is being introduced, in particular:

- at the first stage - inter-street competitions in mahallas;

- at the second stage - intermahalla competitions in sectors;

- at the third stage - district (city) competitions among mahalla teams that have become winners of competitions in sectors;

- ️ at the fourth stage - regional competitions among mahalla teams that became winners of district (city) competitions;

- ️at the fifth stage - republican (final) competitions among makhalla teams that became winners of regional competitions.

The document also provides that physical education teachers of schools and trainers of sports and educational institutions who have prepared the winners of the above competitions are not involved in qualification certification and they are directly assigned the following qualification categories:

- for the preparation of winners and prize-winners of the district (city) stages of the competition - the second qualification category;

- for the preparation of winners and prize-winners of the regional stages of the competition - the first qualification category;

- for the preparation of winners and prize-winners of the republican (final) stage of the competition - the highest qualification category.
