Uzbekistan Secures 7 Medals at World Weightlifting Championship

Uzbekistan's national team secured seven medals at the World Weightlifting Championship in Saudi Arabia, a crucial event on the path to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The impressive medal haul included four gold, two silver, and one bronze medal, all earned by Uzbek athletes.

Consequently, the men's national team achieved second place in the medal count, trailing only behind China. In the points classification, Uzbekistan secured fifth place, following Armenia, China, Iran, and Colombia. Gold medalists were Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov in the -81 kg lifting category and Akbar Jurayev and Ruslan Nurudinov in the -109 kg category, with Jurayev also claiming victory in two fights.

Silver medals were awarded to Akbar Jurayev in the -109 kg lifting category and Ruslan Nurudinov in two fights within the same weight class. A bronze medal was secured by Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov in the -81 kg category, also in two fights.
