National domain UZ is 23 years old
If to speak about development statistics, according to the cctld.uz, there are some 60 thousand domains currently, 6 thousand of which were registered since the beginning of this year.
April 29 can be called a special day for Uzbekistan – on this day in 1995, the University of the Institute of Informatics of Southern California approved the request to create a national domain "UZ". Yesterday the domain .UZ celebrated its 23rd birthday.
The Single integrator UZINFOCOM (formerly UZINFOCOM Center) has been the Administrator of the national domain "UZ" since March 2003. The right to manage the national domain was transferred in accordance with the signed agreement with ICANN International organization. Over the past period, the single integrator UZINFOCOM has established a Registrar network, which included 25 official registrars from all over the country. This allows you making domain registration more affordable.
