ADB approves new country partnership strategy with Uzbekistan
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a new country partnership strategy (CPS) for Uzbekistan. The five-year partnership strategy for 2019-2023 supports government reforms to facilitate the transition of the economy to a more inclusive and market-based growth path.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a new country partnership strategy (CPS) for Uzbekistan. The five-year partnership strategy for 2019-2023 supports government reforms to facilitate the transition of the economy to a more inclusive and market-based growth path.
As part of the new strategy, ADB will support the government's long-term goals to improve people's quality of life and create quality jobs. The Bank's country operations will support private sector development, reduce economic and social inequalities, and promote regional cooperation and integration.
ADB will also assist in improving cities and villages outside Tashkent through rural development and improved access to financial resources for small and medium-sized enterprises, in particular owned and headed by women. ADB will also support the development of livestock, horticulture and irrigation sectors to create jobs and improve sources of income.
