Almaty-Tashkent-Almaty fast train resumes its operation
After a 2.5 years hiatus, the Almaty-Tashkent-Almaty fast train has started its operation which was forced to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The first train arrived today, May 17, at the Shimoliy Station of Tashkent. According to the schedule, the train will run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from the railway station "Almaty-2" at 18:32, and also on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 12:39 - to the station "Tashkent-Central".
The train consists of 24 cars and can serve 425 passengers at the same time. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, as well as electronically.
When buying electronic tickets, passengers need to print them on A4 paper to cross the state border of Kazakhstan.
Due to the situation with coronavirus, passengers currently travelling to the Republic of Kazakhstan must present a certificate of testing for COVID-19 by PCR done no later than 72 hours. Or documentary evidence (certificate) of having completed a full course of vaccination or revaccination against coronavirus infection, which both states have mutually recognized.
