Development completed for Tashkent-Samarkand toll road project
The "Tashkent-Samarkand" toll road project has been developed, with a $350,000 grant from the EBRD. The Austrian company used these funds to create the initial technical and economic document, with an additional allocation of 1.5 million euros from the EBRD.
The tender for the project was won by Turkey's company with a contract worth 1 million euros. The preliminary report and pre-investment study project have been submitted and accepted. The total length of the 6-lane highway is 305 kilometers, meeting international standards. New bridges, overpasses, and an intelligent transport system will be installed.
The "Tashkent-Samarkand" toll highway aims to improve traffic flow, with a road surface carrying capacity of 13 tons according to international standards and a service life of 25 years. The project, developed under a public-private partnership, aligns with the April 8, 2022 Decree for reforms fostering sustainable economic growth and enhancing the business environment.
