The Uzbek delegation at the summit was represented by Chairman of the “Uzbekipaksanoat” Association B. Sharipov and Director of "Bukhara Brilliant Silk" B. Juraev, IA "Jahon" said.
Addressing the participants of the conference, B. Sharipov noted that silkworm breeding in Uzbekistan has an ancient history and centuries of experience. Located on the Great Silk Road, Uzbekistan is famous for its textiles atlas, adras, bekasam.
Due to the huge attention paid by the leadership of our country, today sericulture industry goes to a whole new level of development. Some 20 enterprises for the production of silkworm seeds and more than 40 silk companies ensure quality and competitiveness in the global market.
Today Uzbekistan employs 500 thousand people in this sector.
Following the conference, member states of the ISS unanimously agreed to hold the next summit in Uzbekistan in November 2018.
