Turkey's Cengiz Enerji to build 240 MW TPP in Tashkent region

A thermal power plant with a capacity of 240 MW will be built in the Tashkent region. The corresponding resolution was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 2.

The construction and operation will be carried out by the Turkish company CENGIZ ENERJI VE TIC A. Ş. (Investor) and Cenergo (Project company).

In accordance with the document, National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan is committed to purchase electric energy from the company during the next 25 years and make payment in the national currency.

The construction of the TPP is to raise Turkish investment of up to $150mn, create 500 new jobs during construction and 100 jobs during operation of the plant, and generate affordable electricity in the amount of 2bn kWh per year.
