UNDP to hold energy audit of rural housing in Uzbekistan

UNDP Uzbekistan, as a part of a joint project with GEF and the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan plans to conduct an energy audit of 60 houses, which will include typical rural houses without energy efficient facilities built in 2018 in the framework of the State Programme.

During this energy audit, the specialists will inspect the supply, distribution and energy consumption systems in both types of houses, which will help to compare the actual annual consumption of thermal and electric energy and determine the level of respective greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to collate the energy consumers’ spending.

The energy audit will be conducted in several stages. In the first two stages, monitoring and processing information is carried out during the summer period, in the third stage, monitoring of houses covers the winter period, and in the final stage, general information for the cold and hot months is summarized and analyzed. The final report will contain data on monitoring the level of energy consumption in energy-efficient and low-carbon rural homes, an energy audit of the actual annual consumption of heat and electricity, and an assessment of the energy balance and efficiency of homes. This will also help determine the level of relevant greenhouse gas emissions.
