Uzbekistan and Turkey intend to increase trade turnover to $5 billion

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan continued talks with the participation of official delegations of the two countries after a narrow format meeting.

"We are pleased that our multifaceted relations based on common values are rising to a completely new level of quality," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.- Our conversation in a narrow circle once again confirmed the great political will for the development of cooperation between our countries. We have openly and thoroughly discussed all issues directly related to the interests of our peoples and states, both current and future plans."

The state visit of the President of our country to Turkey last October was historic. In 2017, the volume of bilateral trade increased by 30 percent and amounted to $1.5 billion. In the first quarter, the figure rose by 20%.

The sides noted the availability of untapped opportunities to bring the volume of trade turnover to $5 billion in the coming years. In this regard, the main emphasis is placed on the development of trade and economic relations. The parties outlined promising areas of cooperation and put forward projects.
