Uzbekistan signs €500 million worth agreement with EBRD

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev`s trip to France resulted in the signing of dozens of agreements. The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a partnership agreement with the French Development Agency on the implementation of the Cooperation Program for 2018-2021.

The document aims at identifying promising areas of cooperation in the field of investment activities and improving the investment climate between.

The programme provides for the financing of projects in the amount of 600 million euros for the period from 2018-2021.

The allocated funds will be channeled towards the implementation of promising joint projects in the field of water supply and sanitation, energy and hydropower, the introduction of energy-saving and energy-efficient technologies using alternative energy resources, agriculture, environmental protection and sustainable resource management, including municipal solid waste.

A Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the French State Investment Bank BPI France for a total of 300 million euros.

Memorandums of cooperation were signed with the largest French Corporate and Investment Bank Natixis and three commercial banks of Uzbekistan: JSCB "Asaka", JSCB "Uzpromstroybank" and the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity.

An important step towards strengthening and developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was the signing of agreements on projects worth some 500 million euros.

These projects are aimed at creating favorable economic conditions in the country and improving the living conditions of people in remote areas.
