Uzbekistan to export uranium to India

Uzbekistan will start exporting uranium to India in March. Representatives of the Department of Atomic Energy of India have met with the CEO, Jahongir Hasanov, of the state-owned company “Navoiyuran” to establish strategic partnership relations and discuss export issues.

In 2019, a memorandum was signed between the "Navoiyuran" state enterprise and the "Atomic Energy Department" of the Indian government. "Navoiyuran" SE exports its products to countries such as Japan, Canada, the United States, and South Korea. According to the memorandum, the export of uranium products to India is to begin in March 2023.

Before sending the prepared product to India, the delegation members carried out supervision and conducted laboratory testing to ensure the quality of the product at the Uran Production Plant.

During the period of 2023-2026, the company plans to produce and export natural uranium to leading global companies such as Itochu, Marubeni, Cameco, and KHNP through relevant contracts.

In the past year of 2022, the export of products increased by 118.9%, and the growth rate was 110.2% compared to 2021.
