Kyrgyzstan proposes to ban the placement of heavy equipment near the borders of the CIS countries
Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov participated in the tenth-anniversary meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states.
Marat Imonkulov touched on the issue of challenges and threats today, noting that they are not diminishing, they are mutating and becoming multi-directional, transitory and dangerous. Any country can instantly become a target or weapon of a geopolitical game, receiving blows from different directions.
A single country cannot cope with the whole set of threats by itself. International security should not depend on someone's aggressive ambitions. All attempts at destabilization must be effectively resisted. Therefore, in order to establish mutual cooperation and cooperation, as well as to find ways of compromise in the interests of stability and peace in the path of development, the common integrated activity of all the member states of the Commonwealth and the world community is necessary," said Marat Imonkulov.
Marat Imankulov also offered to inform each other about the number and quality of the Armed Forces units located in the border areas in order to strengthen mutual trust and increase responsibility for ensuring stability. He also said that he is in favor of introducing restrictions on the presence of heavy equipment, tanks, artillery, and multiple-launch missile systems near the borders, if this does not apply to the external borders of the CIS.
