President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will visit Uzbekistan on July 14-15

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Berdimuhamedov's visit to our country will take place on July 14-15. The agenda of the high-level talks include issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighbourliness and strategic partnership, and expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

It is planned that the presidents will discuss the prospects for practical cooperation in the main areas, including increasing the volume of mutual trade, establishing industrial cooperation, effectively using the transport and transit potential, implementing important projects in the water management sector, intensifying interregional contacts, as well as continuing programs of cultural and humanitarian exchange.

Along with this, an exchange of views of the heads of state on international issues, as well as a discussion of topical aspects of regional cooperation is envisaged.

As a result of the summit, it is planned to adopt a Joint Statement and sign a package of bilateral documents.

The program of the distinguished guest's stay also includes a meeting in the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sightseeing in the city of Samarkand.

It should be noted that within the framework of preparation for this visit on July 1-2, the events of the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Water Management Issues were successfully held in the city of Dashoguz.

On July 12, an Uzbek-Turkmen scientific and practical conference was held in our capital, dedicated to deepening bilateral relations and unlocking the potential of strategic partnership.

On the eve of the summit, the city of Bukhara hosts the first Forum of Regions, a meeting of the Business Council and an exhibition of leading enterprises of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
