The 65th meeting of the European Regional Commission of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has started in Samarkand. Aziz Abdukhakimov, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development opened the event.
The main theme of the 65th session of the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe is the impact of the pandemic on tourism and overcoming its consequences.
"As a result of the fundamental reforms implemented in recent years on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, unprecedented opportunities have opened up for all sectors of the Uzbek economy, including the tourism industry," Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
