Drinking water prices to double in Uzbekistan regions

The prices of drinking water in Uzbekistan's Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions are almost doubling. The Council of People's Deputies approved the new tariffs on July 13 in Surkhandarya, July 17 in Kashkadarya, and July 25 in the Tashkent region.

In Surkhandarya, the price of drinking water will increase from 1150 to 2140 soums, while, in the Tashkent region it will be raised from 950 to 1,700 soums, and in Kashkadarya, it will go up from 1000 to 2000 soums. These changes are scheduled to be implemented on August 20 for the Tashkent region and 15 days after the official announcements in the other regions.
