Fake: Uzbekistan creates drug that cures 99 percent of cancer
It was reported that Uzbek scientists developed a new drug to cure 99 percent of cancer. The Uzbek National News Agency, citing the Institute of Nuclear Physics director of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences, says professor Ilham Sadykov.
Today, however, the Ministry of Health denied the news.
The statement published by UzA refers to a new radiopharmaceutical vector therapy tool registered in Uzbekistan and launched in June 2022. The composition of this drug is said to consist of the radioisotope "Lutetium-177" and the protein substance "antigen-617" attached to it with a specific prostate membrane.
It turns out that this drug is used as a radiopharmaceutical only in the United States, Europe and Asia for the diagnosis and treatment of prostate tumours and neuroendocrine tumours.
"Based on foreign experience, we can say that this drug is used only for stage 4 prostate cancer in metastasis to the bone. This drug is a temporary remedy and allows prolonging the life of patients", - says Daniyar Nishanov, chief physician of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology, Doctor of Medicine.
It should be noted that the drug has been used only on three patients at one medical facility in Uzbekistan. According to experts, the patients have significantly reduced metastases and pain bothering them.
However, any new medicine takes a long time to go through various studies, research and appropriate conclusions about effectiveness, from its use in practice to confirmation of effectiveness.
