Israeli cardiologists conduct successful heart surgery of Uzbek child

A 3-year-old child from Andijan region with heart disease successfully underwent cardiac surgery at the Israeli Multi-Disciplinary Hospital Wolfson on June 17,. This was reported by the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

The child arrived in Israel on July 9 as part of a charity event worked out jointly by the embassies of the two countries, the Ministry of Health and the Israeli non-profit charitable organization Save a child's heart".

After discharge from the intensive care unit, which is expected in the coming days, the child, together with his mother will stay in Israel for the entire period required for additional rehabilitation procedures.

Save a child's Heart has already provided assistance to some 5 thousand children in need of treatment for heart diseases from the Middle East, South America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Largely due to this, in 2018, Save a child's Heart was awarded the UN Secretary-General's award for outstanding achievements in the field of population and health, as well as received special consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
