Italy assists in modernising gas transportation system to Uzbekistan
200 million euros will be allocated for a project to supply new gas equipment and software.
The Uzbek company "Hududgazta'minot" has signed agreements with two Italian companies to modernise Uzbekistan's gas transmission system. The primary gas equipment supplier, Pietro Fiorentini, will provide Uzbekistan with modern gas control points, pressure regulators, filters, and other related equipment. They have already supplied 305 residential and five industrial gas customers with reliable gas supply.
The joint project also involves the participation of "Terranova," whose telemetry system enables remote monitoring and online control of gas supply points. The project involves the modernisation of 5,400 gas control points, installing telemetry systems at 2,800 high-pressure gas pipeline facilities, and installing high-precision ultrasonic gas flow meters.
The Italian export-import credit agency (SACE) will finance the project with a budget of 200 million euros.
To train gas pipeline engineers using modern equipment, "Hududgazta'minot" is establishing a particular training school for gas engineers under the “HGT” corporate training centre.
The retraining program will provide the company's employees with the latest tools and techniques to enhance their skills.
