Samarkand airport was temporarily closed due to inclement weather. The Russian Aeroflot airline RA-73120 flight from Moscow to Samarkand, as well as the Istanbul—Samarkand flight by Turkish Airlines, could not land due to bad weather conditions and snow removal in the local airport. The aircraft were redirected to Tashkent airport.
