Shipbuilding training program for Uzbek specialists
As part of the agreements from the June 2024 trilateral negotiations between Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency, the city of Ulsan, and Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea now offers new employment opportunities for Uzbek citizens. The parties signed a memorandum to launch a three-month vocational and language training program at the “Ulsan Vocational Training Center” for those aspiring to work in Ulsan.
The demand for skilled workers in Ulsan’s industrial sector currently stands at approximately 50,000. To meet this demand, the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and Ulsan City Hall have agreed to establish a vocational training center in Uzbekistan to prepare specialists for work in major industrial enterprises in Ulsan. The training program will commence on March 18 at the KOICA Vocational Training Center in the Fergana region. Participants will receive comprehensive training in the Korean language, culture, and traditions, as well as practical skills in shipbuilding. The training will be conducted by specialists from Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Upon completing the training program, participants will undergo a selection process. Successful candidates will be granted work visas by Ulsan City Hall. The project aims to employ 400 Uzbek specialists in the first year, with the number expected to reach 5,000 in subsequent years.
