Tashkent air quality remains hazardous

The air quality in Tashkent continues to pose a significant health risk. As of today, at 8:00 a.m., the concentration of RM2.5 particles in the air remained largely unchanged from the previous day. This level is 17 times higher than the recommendations set by the World Health Organization.

On January 10th at 8:00 p.m., it had decreased only slightly, although it still remained 19.4 times higher than the recommended limit. The IQAir service, which rates air quality worldwide, currently ranks Tashkent in 12th place in terms of pollution levels. The service advises residents to refrain from participating in outdoor activities, wear a medical mask when outside, keep windows closed, and utilize air purifiers if available. While the concentration of RM10 particulate matter in the air measured 191.4, it did not exceed the standard limit. Similarly, carbon monoxide levels were within the acceptable range at 0.8 mg/m3.
